2012 Christmas Light Show

This is my 4 year to do a musical Christmas Light Show.  I am using the Gemmy 12 plug 6 channel Light Show.

This year I have wrapped our trees with more detail and trimmed out the yard in lights.  I have also added garland lights on the balcony.  The Nativity and the balcony lights are always on, because the number of lights hooked up to the Gemmy boxes is pushing the limit for amps.  I blew both fuses and replaced them with 250v 10amp fuses. They seem to be working fine.

I will post the hookup listing later.   This unit is two separate boxes each with 6 plugs, however each plug is synchronized with a plug on the other box, I have mine labeled 1 - 6.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas everyone.

This is my third year to do a musical Christmas Light Show.  I am using the Gemmy 12 plug 6 channel Light Show.

This year I added the pillars back on the front of the house and made the 3 white outdoor 6 foot Christmas trees that I used last year as always on.  I also added green lights to the bushes, I wanted to add red lights as well, however I ran out of red lights.  I will get more red lights this year at the end of the season.

I will post the hookup listing later.   This unit is two separate boxes each with 6 plugs, however each plug is synchronized with a plug on the other box, I have mine labeled 1 - 6.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas everyone.

2009 Christmas Light Show

This is my second year to do a musical Christmas Light Show.  I am using the Gemmy 12 plug 6 channel Light Show.

My plan was to purchase a 16 channel control this year and run it from my computer, but other expenses came up.

This year I eliminated the pillars on the front of the house and used 3 white outdoor 6 foot Christmas trees that I purchased last year after Christmas at Target.  I paid $15 each normally $49.99.  So I basically got 3 for just under the price of one.

I was able to coordinate them to go in sequence during the song.  I will give the hook up instructions later.

How I did it. 2008

I used the Gemmy 12 Outlet Light Show which has 2 seperate boxes that are linked with a link cable.  Each box has 6 outlets, hence the 12 plug or 12 channel reference.  But when you link the two boxes up, the main controller box synchronizes the outlets.  I just finished mapping out the plugs.  I have also labeled which lights are being controlled by each plug.

Controller box
3 4
2 5
1 6

Secondary Box
1 6
2 5

3 4

Setting up the Pillars.

I used 2 sets of 100 minilights on each pillar. I ran the two sets like this.
I used wood hooks here into the facial under the balcony.
? - wood hook
p - plug

I hope this helps.

I got some of the outside Christmas trees at Target this year after Christmas. Normally, $50 each, I got 3 of them for $5 each. Not sure how I am going to incorporate them yet, but I will.

I have just completed my first musical light display.  I am using the Gemmy Light Show with 6 outlets on the main unit
and 6 outlets on the extra module.  I will include a review of the product later, but for now I am pleased with the outcome of the product.
